Riva del Garda
This model is available in a carved version only. It features the finest master-grade European spruce and maple for the 14" body. The model is named after the beautiful city of Riva which overlooks Lake Garda in northern Italy. The prototype had woods which came from the Tyrolean Alps where Riva is located. This is the area where the great master Antonio Stradaveri acquired his woods.
The inlay of Riva and Lake Garda on the headstock is done in brass, mother-of-pearl, abalone, paua abalone and maple. The theme was inspired by a silver and enamel broach designed and hand-crafted by my uncle, Charles Zanoni, an incredible artist who resides in Ireland. Paua abalone also adorns the truss rod nut cover and pickguard. The fingerboard inlay is pearl block bordered with paua abalone. On the tailpiece is an inlay of Italy and Sicily. Ebony accent stripes are present in the neck and butt joint. There is also a small f-hole sound port cut in the upper side bout.
